Vintage floral teen bedroom reveal.

I couldn’t wait any longer to reveal Kennedy’s vintage floral teen bedroom!

We started on Kennedy’s bedroom at the beginning of March, life got in the way, but now I’m FINALLY done!! Well, I’m done enough to do a reveal of the space even though I have a few other ideas up my sleeve.

Since it’s been so long, here’s the before of the space when we bought our home.

Here was the inspiration mood board for Kennedy’s room.

Most recently I made her window seat cushion, which was super easy and has held up really well.

What kicked off the whole transformation was the garden trellis wood accent wall. It’s all painted in Behr NYPD in Marquee Eggshell.

This has been quite the trend in our house between Kelsey’s bedroom makeover and our master bedroom accent wall. It feels amazing to finally be able to reveal Kennedy’s room.

Just in time for the new school year, this new teenager has a new room.

I love a good challenge and Kennedy deficiency put me to it with the blue flowers and the vintage vibe. The headboard was the first piece of furniture I bought. Her desk I found on the local mom swap site.

I used my third attempt at my scroll saw to make a “K” for her wall. It’s faaaaaaar from perfect and I have an IOU for a better one down the road. I used my Circuit to cut out petals to make these paper flowers. I’m not 100% sure they’ll stay. In my head I thought it would be perfect, but in real life I’m not sold.

I picked the color for the accent wall from the bedding. I wanted the overall feel of the room to be airy and felt that bringing in a lot of white and gray accents would help that. The three other walls are painted in Behr’s Whisper White in eggshell.

I decided to pull the rug back closer to the bed to allow for more floor space near the desk and the window. Before we changed our flooring to luxury vinyl plank flooring, we had carpet. Now that we have smoother flooring I may switch out Kennedy’s desk chair to one she can scoot around.

Window seat and new desk, perfect timing for this next school year.

Even though I love the way the room turned out, what’s most important is that Kennedy loves it. Actually it’s been the space that both girls hang out in the most and her sister Kelsey has had a lot of sleepovers here this summer. I can’t even tell you how happy I am to see them making memories in this room.

XOXO,
Brooke

Anything to get ideas and inspiration on what we wanted in our own home. Believe it or not, we’ve moved 10 times. Of those 4 were homes we bought and one of them a home we built. Needless to say when we saw the online photos of our “hopeful” future home plan, we agreed we had at least one more move in us. What’s something you’re looking for in your next home?

One of my favorite things to do is take long walks through construction sites surrounded by plumbing and framing. No lie. This is where we’ve gone multiple evenings over the last couple of weeks. This place has brought us a lot of peace and on the blog I’m spilling the beans on our secret.

The tragic helicopter accident that took Kobe, his daughter, and their friends rocked me in a way I didn’t know it would. It was clear that y’all loved the bedroom renovations this year and our @wearewoodgrain accent wall was a huge crowd favorite. Kennedy’s diamond pattern wall is one of my most pinned on Pinterest to this day. I’m deep in planning mode for this year and can’t wait to bring more fun content. Hope that everyone had a great night and an even better weekend!!
Walking out of this year with a whole new perspect Walking out of this year with a whole new perspective. While this year was filled with so much uncertainty, I was still able to find some light and a more clear vision. (I’ve always said the best lessons come in the valleys of life.) I’ve spent the last few weeks with Court and the girls and I’ve come to some realizations that will change the vision I thought I had for the future. I thank you for being on this journey. I’m blown away by the people I’ve met online and in person from this community. The opportunities I’ve been blessed to experience. I pray that everyone has a safe night and we all wake up tomorrow with hope that the new year will bring more peace.
