I’ve been thinking a lot about what comes next. T I’ve been thinking a lot about what comes next. The kids have launched from the nest. Life looks different than it did a few years ago. And even this house may have a different future than I once imagined. I’ve spent years making this place a home. Lately I’ve been wondering what it looks like to make a life that feels like mine again. I don’t have all the answers yet. We went from having 18 years to only 2 weeks until We went from having 18 years to only 2 weeks until our oldest heads to college. The last few months we’ve been doing all the things getting her ready for this next chapter. My momma heart is equal parts excited and weepy. She’s got this, I’ve got this, it’s all going to be ok. 🥹

The last two days we spent at @uofsc_onso. It was The last two days we spent at @uofsc_onso. It was a well thought out and planned event that covered all things from traditions, to move in, to financial aid, and all the everything in between. They even gave us a @spotify playlist I’m not quite ready for. 🥹Kennedy was able to select her dorm and finalize her class schedule. Next up, move in day and this little chickadee is ready to launch from the nest. Speaking of nests, brace yourself because as a once three year RA, lover of organization, and small space aficionado…I’m about to geek out. 🤓

I wish I would have had the strength and courage then that I do now, but I am who I am because of all the things I’ve been through. That I’m still going through. If anything I’m parenting my girls the way I wish I would have been parented. Giving them the advice I would have love to have given my younger self.

18 years in the blink of an eye. Yesterday we spen 18 years in the blink of an eye. Yesterday we spent her last day as a minor touring UofSC for committed students day. I am so incredibly proud of her and I’m confident she’s going truly blossom in this next chapter. She made me a momma and I am so lucky to have her (and her sister too). Kennedy Paige, you are a precious soul and I pray this life becomes everything you deserve and more. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living, My baby you’ll be.”

But as a group of NC/SC content creators, we were thankful to stay at one of the beautiful @yondernc properties and do our part to bring some tourism to the area. Thankful for this group and for the hospitality we had during our retreat.

Good news, the extremely dead Christmas trees have been taken to the dump to be recycled and my car smells amazing. Bad news is my actual to do list did not get touched and I’ll be finding pine needles from now until next Christmas. 2020 while the world was shutting down, my world a 2020 while the world was shutting down, my world actually collapsed in 2019. I took to TikTok as an escape to have fun with the girls. And while it may sound silly, apps like TikTok allowed me to showcase all the amazing projects I was able to do. In turn I was afforded opportunities I don’t think I would have had otherwise. So yeah, it makes me sad that it could go away because what’s to stop other apps like it from going away too? I found peace, healing, and connection. Something this world is lacking a lot of these days.
