How it started—-> how it’s going. Flipping through photos on this day, I remember thinking as I snapped this picture, there was no way they were going to be done by the end of May so we could move in. Thanks to our awesome realtor and her amazingly patient parents who were our buyers, we did end up having to push back a bit, but we did close by the end of May in 2021. Almost two years later and we’ve made quite a few changes to make it our own.

Following the meal planning got a little off track because of lacrosse and me being gone this past weekend. But man did it make picking dinner tonight a lot easier. Annnnd did you see my story, I got all of it at Aldi’s and it cost only $15 for our family of 4. Talk about a double win!

3 years ago this month I finished renovating a condo for a couple close friends. The past couple days I’ve been at the condo having a solo retreat so I could focus on work stuff. Looking around I can’t help but be proud of the work we put in and the fact that my friends trusted me enough to do this for them. I wasn’t prepared for how having the double mastectomy last year would magnify all these feelings. Because now I have a physical reminder she’s gone. I’ve been so thankful for my little family, friends, and this community. DIY has been an outlet and I haven’t even been able to fully recommit to doing projects. I want to, but mentally struggle more than I would like to admit. A really good friend of mine reminded me it’s ok not to be ok. I’m still trying to give myself grace. If you’re going through something similar, know you’re not alone and my DM’s are open. Helping people brings me great joy in so much darkness. 💕

Y’all, there’s not enough allergy medicine in the world that can help me be outside longer than 30 minutes right now. And don’t even get me started on the dagum noseeums. (See also gnats with teeth) So if you see me out here all red eyed, snotty nosed, and itchy… no you didn’t. 🤣 At least it’s sunny and staying warm. 🤷🏻‍♀️
