It’s the 3rd week of the @oneroomchallenge and the first week I’ve posted about it because the last couple of weeks have been filled with college tours and behind the scenes stuff for Kennedy’s room. After 3 years of living in our home, Kennedy asked for one last room makeover before she graduates and this one has me all in my feels. Kelsey’s room is finally done! She wanted a preppy coastal room that was light, bright and minimalist and I think we achieved all of this! Blog post is up with all the deets.

Hanging these curtains were a bit of challenge thanks to the window trim. Kelsey only wanted sheer curtains to filter the light and because of the smaller space I opted for 2 panels instead of 4. I cannot wait to show you the rest of her room!

While big projects are fun, breaking down the small maintenance projects are just as important. Lately I’ve been sharing a lot of caulk tips and I had a friend reach out to me and tell me how excited she was to complete this project. That’s all I ever want to do, is break down the barriers and encourage people to do what they think they can’t do, because you absolutely freaking can. I got you!!

Who would have thought sleeping with separate comforters would have made a difference, but it truly does. The gray coverlet is there to cover the two comforters and provide protection from the dogs. (Yes our dogs are allowed on our bed. ) Cheers to better nights sleep! 🙌🏻. Would you ever consider sleeping with separate comforters?

17 years ago Courtney left for work and even though I was a week past my due date with a scheduled induction that following Tuesday, didn’t realize that I was actually in labor. Thinking he was in the clear, Court carpooled with his doctor to the satellite office that day. It was negative something ridiculous degrees so I took the day off to get ready. Needless to say Kennedy was in fact ready and in the middle of doing laundry and vacuuming the couch I realized I should probably call the doctor because, wow that pain was not the Mexican food we had the night before. 😳 Doctor gave the green light, , called Court and told him there was no way I could wait because let’s just say I’ve been “pushing” for at least an hour 🤣🤣 I “hee- hee’d” and “ who- whoo’d” my way to the hospital and despite all efforts we ended up with a c-section. 17 years later and this sweetest girl still takes her time to enjoy the little things in life. She loves to read, is a hard little worker, and truly one of my biggest blessings. Today we spent celebrating her.

What happens when a group of talented bloggers rent a beach house on the Isle of Palms? A group of women walk out bonded and empowered, ready to take on all the things. Think Barbie movie, but with a lot of food, drinks and we come with our own tool belts and other fun accessories. To be honest it wasn’t until I did the video that I could truly see that I was able to accomplish what I wanted to this year. Not only was this year about intention, it was also about survival. The last few years have been brutal and left me questioning if this blogging journey was for me. I’m glad I stuck around or else I would have missed out on this year and seeing one of my biggest bucket list items come to life.

Yesterday we took Kennedy to kindergarten registration, then today to visit a college campus. 🥺What in the world?! All I have to say is those days you spend saying “let me just get to… then…” all that does is make time go at a warp speed. The visit was great and we walked away so excited for this next chapter. Of course I’ll miss seeing her face at home, but this is what we’ve been preparing her for and she’s more than ready. 💕

Throwing it back old school IG style with a carousel of still photos. Feels kinda weird, but I’m ok with that too. I had to take down my normal four frames beside the fireplace because sadly their little prongs didn’t make it. I’m showing you a view from my now favorite spot on the couch that we all secretly fight over like some silent game of move your feet lose your seat. I love that I can both see the lake AND the tree. And yes, I did draw the little Santa and reindeer chalk drawing, but trust me when I say it’s very Monet. Pretty from a distance, but a little messy when you get right up on it. It’s finals week for the girls so if you don’t mind sending some good vibes, that would be amazing. 💕
